2006-2007 Blurb Book

I was recently introduced to Blurb, a bookmaking website. I know I've mentioned them before, but basically they have free software you can download to create your own book. A friend of mine (thanks Amberlynn!) made an awesome family scrapbook/blog book with it. I got so excited I talked Michael into letting me do 2006 and 2007 to make us a book. Never mind that we already had a finished scrapbook from those years. I am SOOO happy with the final product! It's gorgeous! I don't think I got a single other thing accomplished during Jessica's naps for the past while, but it's worth it. Here is a sampling. Sorry for the lousy pictures. They don't do it justice.

The book looks amazing!! I have a few questions for you! I am making mine right now and I'm wondering did you add some of the digital scrapbooking elements to it after you put it on blurb or did you have it made before? Like you bathtime page, looks like you did it after. Does that make any sence? How did you change the color of 100% girl, and last but not least...what digital scrapbooking site did you get all your fonts and letters from? whew, that is alot of questions huh. Well I'm knee deep into my book and yours looks so good I need some advice. Thanks Laura, miss you here in Cali! :)

Kristi,

I swear I had to go through a million different steps to do the pages. So here goes with your questions: What I did was open the "page" section of Photoscape. I would drag in my pictures on whatever layout I wanted. Then you click on the "edit" button. In that screen you can go to the tab that says "object" and click on the photo button (top left), and click on "photo." That's where you can pick all your little cute embellishments or whatever. So that's how I place them over the pictures and stuff. Once it looks the way I want I save it as a jpeg. Then in Blurb I chose the layout that just one big photo for the page. Then you just drag in the layout you just made in Photoscape. Did that make sense? If not, totally email me with more questions, or even give me a call. As far as the "100% Girl" thing, I didn't change anything, it's probably just the way it turned out when I took the picture. And for you last question - I get my fonts, etc from just about anywhere. Basically I just Google "Free digital scrapbooking" and a bunch of stuff comes up. Amberlynn has a link on her blog that has really cute fonts. It's at the top, just under her title thing. I really think all of us crazy people who do this stuff each need to burn a CD of all our cute scrapbooking stuff and send it to everyone else. :) OK, that is WAY too long of a comment. I hope that all helps.
