Misc. Picts

We went to the beach before leaving LA. Michael was hoping to go surfing one last time, but it was super flat - poor guy. But he had lots more fun just playing with Jessica. The water was surprisingly warm (for May) and Jessica kept trying to dive in. Eventually we had to strip her down. She had a blast!

My handsome boys.

Chandler's Baby Blessing

The Sunday following Michael's graduation we blessed Chandler while there was family in town. He was blessed in Michael's parent's home.

Dad, Grandpa Leo, Michael, Jake, Dad, Mom, Laura and Chandler, Karen and Jessica, and Mom.

Graduation

We are done with law school! Graduation was nice. Jessica walked across the stage with Michael. We figured it was fitting seeing how she was born on his first day of school. The poor girl was pretty scared of Michael in his funny clothes though. :)

Disney Land

While we were down in S. California for graduation, we went to Disney Land. It was both mine and Jessica's first times. Super fun! Jessica's favorite rides were Small World and Pirates of the Carribean (how funny is that?).

This is what a guy who just finished law school looks like after taking his business tax final.

Garage Sale Loot

I decided to go garage-saleing this morning. I'm on the look-out for a cool chair that I can reupholster. No luck with that today, but I did some some other cool stuff.

$1 for the awesome pink cowgirl boots (hey, we live in ID now, right?) and $0.25 for the shelf thing.
Here's what I did with the shelf - it'll look cute in Chandler's room.

But here's the really cool thing I got for $3:
Jessica is super excited about it. It's not in great cosmetic condition, but it works fine. She's still learning, so she gets kind of frustrated, but it's been fun.

Jessica's art

Jessica loves to draw and color. Here are some things she did today. Cute kid.

I'm a little bit of a weirdo :)

My credit card gives us points (c'mon, if yours doesn't, you're using the wrong kind). Any-whoo! My points accrue until I get a lovely little gift certificate to Amazon.com. That's practically as good as cash, right? Sounds great and all, but I don't think my certificates have ever been used for anything other than textbooks for Michael. I'm not complaining - it's just been a fact of life that we've had to be thrifty during our marriage. It's not like thrift is going out the window or anything now, but I actually got to use my certificate for something fun this time! Hooray! Want to know what I got? OK, some of you may actually agree with me that this is a fun thing. The rest of you will just roll your eyes and go, "Laura, you really are a weirdo." But you already knew that right? OK, I'm really rambling. I just talk fast when I'm excited (and apparently type fast too). Here's what I got:

Are you jealous? You totally should be. Maybe a lot of you out there have more natural skill when it comes to housekeeping and all that. But I really struggle sometimes to keep things as clean as I should. I'm more of a tidy/straighten person rather than a scrub and mop kind of person. I really need to work on that. Poor Michael has been so patient. Actually, any of you who are aware of Michael's post-Hondo germ phobia know that I'm the patient one. :) Just kidding babe... kind of. Sorry, rambling again. So yeah, I'm VERY excited about this book. Maybe now I'll be the clean freak of Michael's dreams, or at least I'll know how to be.

So you know how I've mentioned lately that I have this thing with storage and organization stuff? I came across a few thing the other day on this cool blog that just made me happy and jealous at the same time.

First is her super organized and beautiful pantry. Everything is just labeled so nice and pretty. Forget flowers and jewelry Michael, my love, just get me a label-maker. Just kidding. OK, no, I'm really not kidding. I think I would giggle with glee if I got one. Like I said, weirdo. You can also look at the picts I have in the "pantry" section of my home-ideas blog.

And then she just organized her closets. (Sorry about the Jillian Michaels pict). Why is it so cool to me to have all the hidden spaces look fabulous? Not sure. But oh do I ever love it. Someday...

Michael is probably a little disappointed that I blogged without posting any pictures of the kiddos he hasn't seen in weeks. So here you are babe. By the way, I miss you sooooo much! And I love you lots and lots and lots!

Home Ideas

We are actually going to own our own home! OK, it's probably a couple years away, but I'm pretty sure it'll be in the foreseeable future. With that in mind, I've been collecting pictures of things I like that I could maybe use as inspiration down the road. It's been a work in progress for quite a while, but it's definitely not finished. Feel free to take a look at the stuff we like, whether it's Michael's love for Spanish-style decor or my love (obsession?) with all things storage.
