Birthdays and Babies
I've kind of gotten a kick out of the comments from the last post saying that Jessica looks so excited waiting in line and all the other kids look nervous. Well here's what she really looked like before we caught her attention for the picture:
So far she is loving school, although there have been a few moments of drama and just plain tiredness from the full day (I'm still kind of annoyed by the full-day kindergarten thing).
In addition to just starting kindergarten, she just turned 5!! Michael and I decided that we'd only do a "friend party" every other year, in order to save our sanity. We were just going to celebrate as a family this year, but with the move and all the changes relating to that, we figured it might help Jessica to get to know a few of the kids better and have a special day for her. She decided on a "Pajama Party." Three of her little Primary buddies came to play games, decorate little pillows, and eat cupcakes - very low-key. But she had a blast and I'm glad we did it.
Even Chandler had a blast. :)
That evening Jessica and I have some girl time and went to a nearby mini golf place. She had a great time and has been asking to go back ever since.
Sunday (on her actual birthday) we did cake and presents. She was super excited when Michael brought out her new boogie board for the beach!
I've also realized that I haven't posted anything new about our little man for almost a month. Poor child. :) He is getting to be such a big guy and such a cutie! He had some jaundice hanging around at low levels (nothing at all dangerous), which made his eyes a little yellow, but luckily that's just about cleared out. Here's a few of our newest little man:

Kindergarten
How is this possible? Jessica is in Kindergarten! I still have really mixed feelings about this, but I know she's ready and (for the most part) is loving school already. She started on Monday.
Michael was lucky enough to be in town that day and his hearing wasn't until later in the day. We both came to drop her off (along with Chan and Benjamin). She was such a little sweetheart waiting in line outside her classroom.
I just about lost it as she followed her teacher and classmates in. Michael and I had a hard time walking away. Chandler took it pretty rough too. He knew his main playmate was now gone for a good chunk of the day.

Daddys and Daughters
Michael has made an effort for a few years now to take Jessica on the occasional Daddy-Daughter date. Jessica LOVES them, no matter what the activity happens to be. This time Michael just wanted to keep it simple and have time to talk with her about the upcoming school year (1 more week!). They went to the mall for ice cream. Jessica was SO excited when she got home and couldn't wait to show me this:
How cute are they!? I feel so lucky to have these two cuties in my life.
