Meet LaFonda

We have a new addition to our family - she is silver and beautiful. Her name is LaFonda.

NaShunda (our '94 Camry, named after a Belizian girl Michael baptized) was having one too many episodes of smoking, randomly not starting, etc. Today we officially welcomed a more reliable car. And yes, this is my (Laura's) car. Michael will be allowed to use it on crazy snowy days in the winter (since it has all-wheel drive) so long as I have no where I have to go that day. :)

Check out those boots! She is just so happy to have a DVD player in her car.

Another Project

This is what Michael's been spending his nights on. We figure it will be nice in the Winter.

New Phone

Just showing off what my new phone (and Jessica) can do. I love these big eyes.

New Contact Info

As most of you know, we've recently moved. We are also in the process of canceling Laura's cell phone number and getting Michael a new number (his old cell number will be Laura's new number). I sent out a mass email today, but if for whatever reason you didn't get it and you'd like our new address and numbers either:

1) Email us, if you have our regular email address
2) Leave your email address in a comment and we'll send it to you
3) Call us - we won't be canceling the number for a couple days, or
4) Email me at laurageese@gmail.com (FYI - this is my email for when I sign up for random things so that our regular email address doesn't get clogged with spam, so it's not the best way to normally contact us)

Jessica's birthday!

Warning - Picture overload! But that's how we like it, right? :)

Jessica's birthday was on the 21st. We were all feeling festive, even Chandler.

I made her cake. Jessica wanted a "flower cake." This was my attempt. She's 3 - she thought it was awesome.

She loved opening her presents from Grandma and Papa and one from us (a doll car seat).

I admit it, this picture is posed after the fact. We got video of the actual event. Do you ever think you spend too much time getting the "perfect shot" that you end up not enjoying the actual event as much as you should? Hmmm...

The next day (Saturday) was Jessica's party. Here she is in her cute new outfit, ready to go!

We decided to keep it simple (they're 3 year olds after all) and do the party at the park. The kids played on the toys...

and decorated cupcakes.

Michael and Chandler were there to hang out.

One parent thought the bean-bag game looked like a great way to get pictures of the kids. I loved the idea, so here are the cute kiddos:

It was a windy day and we couldn't get the candles on Jessica's little cake to light. Once the kids finished singing she burst into tears. Poor girl. One mention of presents though and she was all smiles again.

Here is the Cinderella outfit from one of the kids. We got close to a melt-down this morning when she found out she wasn't going to get to wear it to church. :)

I still can't believe how old she's getting (if 3 counts as "old"). Love you girlie!

3 Years Old!

Can you believe it?! Our little Jessica-bug is 3 years old! Three years ago today was Michael's first day of law school - great timing girlie! She is our little ray of sunshine. I've loved watching her grow into this little girl who loves to sing, dance, play with dolls, play with her little brother, stay up past her bedtime, each Honey Bunches of Oats, play at the park, sit on the sprinkler, ride her bike, color with chalk (or anything else for that matter), make up stories about ______ walking through the forest and getting lost (we've done everything from little girls to tables), and a million other things. She's a sweetie and we're so glad she's ours!

Thanks to our hilarious aunt Kami, we were introduced to this funny skit on MadTV. This is Jessica's attempt - we think she may have a future in entertainment.

Painting!

We just painted the kid's rooms this past week. It was SO fun! I love love love the colors we chose (they probably look a little off on the computer compared to how they really are). Here's Jessica's lovely purple room. I refinished the bed as well this summer.




Chandler's room is either love it or hate it. We LOVE it! It was definitely inspired by Michael's love of Latin-style decorating. Super bright and a little crazy, but perfect.
